Technical Theatre 1
Grade Placement: 9-12

This course is designed to
give
an overview of the behind the scenes workings of the stage. The
students
will work with a variety of tools, paint, and machinery to create stage
settings, costumes, lighting effects, sound effects, and publicity
information.
This course is ideal for anyone interested in theatre but scared to
death
of the stage.
Technical Theatre 2
Grade Placement: 10-12
Prerequisite: Technical Theatre I - Teacher
approval

This course is designed to
give
students advanced knowledge in four basic design areas: sets, lights,
costume
and sound. Although we will study all these areas, students will have
the
opportunity to focus on one and create an individual project that could
be used to present for scholarships. We will be doing practical work on
productions presented by the school as well as assisting outside
projects
that use our facilities.
Technical Theatre 3
Grade Placement: 11-12
Prerequisite: Technical Theatre II - Teacher
approval

Students in tech theatre 3
will
focus on each design area during each six weeks: sets, lights, sound,
costumes,
makes-up, props. also a primary focus
Technical Theatre 4
Grade Placement: 12
Prerequisite: Technical Theatre
III - Teacher approval

This course is designed to
provide
information to beginning actors and actresses. you will primarily act,
but you will also learn about many other areas of theatre. We will play
theatre games as well as work on memorization, improvisation, and
pantomime.
this class will put on a children's show in the spring for younger
grades
in the community.
Theatre Arts 2
Grade Placement: 10-12
Prerequistie: Theatre Arts I - Teacher approval

This course is designed to
advance
skills in acting. Scene work will be the focus of this course with an
emphasis
on blocking and characterization. Students in this course will learn
more
in depth about a variety of design concepts and how they relate to
acting.
Students are required to perform in one theatre tournament each
semester.
Theatre Arts 3
Grade Placement: 11-12
Prerequistie: Theatre Arts II - Teacher approval
1 credit
This course is for students who have an intense interest in acting and/or directing. We will focus on advanced characterization techniques as well as acting periods and genres. Students will have a heavy focus on scene work A focus will be placed on developing monologues to be used in scholarship auditions. Students are required to perform in one theatre tournament each semester.
Theatre Arts 4
Grade Placement: 12
Prerequistie: Theatre Arts III- Teacher approval
1 credit
Students in Theatre Arts 4 will focus on preparing a production from beginning to end. They will focus on each task primarily assuming the director's role. Preparation for scholarship auditions and studying specific directors will also be focused upon. Students are required to perform in one theatre tournament each semester.
