It’s been a great year!
Today is a great day to be a Cub!
As we enter the final month of school, I want to reflect upon many wonderful things that have taken place this year. First and foremost, we thank our community, parents, district staff, and students for an outstanding school year! It has truly been a GREAT YEAR! We have much to celebrate, too many superlatives to name, and none of this would have been possible without the dedication and support of the wonderful people mentioned above. Outstanding school districts are the reflection of outstanding communities that expect excellence for all.
The fall semester was full of festive celebrations with fall sports, pep rallies, musical concerts, fall festivals, homecoming, and the Christmas stroll. The spring semester brought us celebrations like spring break, Maifest, prom and graduation. What would Brenham, the baseball capital of Texas, be without the exhilarating experience of watching baseball at Fireman’s Park or softball at Brenham High School Alumni Field?!
We have much to be thankful for in Brenham ISD. Our district continues to be on the cutting edge of academic innovation, top tier professional development, and we are among the best in competitive sports throughout the state of Texas. Brenham ISD is truly a destination district for families seeking to live in one of the last vestiges of small town Americana!
My friends, we all choose to live in Brenham because we honor and strive to protect the American values that make our state great - faith in God, traditional family values, quality education for our children, and a caring and generous community. We choose Brenham because we believe our school district and town can protect the future of our great state by working together. We will hold fast to the traditions, values, and collective ideals that make Brenham a uniquely blessed place.
As our students gear up for the final phase of STAAR/EOC testing, please encourage our students and staff to finish strong! Remain committed to closing out this wonderful school year with the same excitement and optimism we experienced as the school year began.
Lastly, I humbly encourage you to be nice and work hard. Remain positive. Count your many blessings. Never take life for granted. Hug your family and friends every day, and never let the opportunity pass to say “I love you” to that special someone.
I am proud and honored to serve, and excited to know that the “sun never sets” on a Brenham Cub!
