Happy Thanksgiving

Dear Cub Nation,

Today is a great day to be a Cub!  We have officially entered into the holiday season and what better way to begin the festivities than with thanks and gratitude. As Americans, we are fortunate to live in the wealthiest country in the world and we have much to be thankful for. We are afforded clean and healthy food, clothing, and nice homes that protect us from the elements.  These are necessities that we may sometimes take for granted, believing that everyone shares in our unique experiences.

While I could go on about how thankful I am for my faith, family, and friends, I would be remiss if I did not publicly share how thankful I am for each of you, my professional family members. I am thankful for your caring hearts and commitment to ensuring that the more than 5,000 students in our school system receive the absolute best education along with the mentoring of a seasoned group of adults who shape the hearts and minds of our future.

As you make plans to travel to places far and wide to be with family and friends, I hope that you will take a few moments to reflect on the tremendous impact that you continue to make upon our community by graciously giving of your gifts, time, and talents. Brenham ISD and Washington County hold a special place in this world because of special people like you. Let us also be reminded that there are many in our community who are not as fortunate as we are; lend a helping hand where you can, when you can, and as your conscience leads you.

On behalf of the board of trustees and district administration, we hope that you have a blessed Thanksgiving break!
