Congratulations to this month's recipients of the You Make a Difference Award!

Supporters of Brenham ISD Outdoor Education

This month the “You Make a Difference Award” recognizes individuals who volunteer in the Brenham ISD Outdoor Education program. The mission of Outdoor Education is to support and enhance the relevance of classroom curriculum through meaningful outdoor learning experiences. Drawing on community experts, Brenham ISD Outdoor Education provides support to teachers through standards-based lessons that promote environmental literacy, an appreciation of the natural world, and stewardship of our land and natural resources. Connecting their local environment to academic content, students learn beside their teachers and community volunteers while beginning their own personal investigations. The strength of our program is tied directly to the quality of our hard-working volunteers that understand the importance of connecting students with the natural world. Their willingness to enhance the classroom environment for our students is the number one reason our program is so successful.
