Did your child take the STAAR test this year? The information below will help you better understand the new Confidential Student Report (CSR) and how to access assessment information via the online student portal.
Every student who takes the STAAR test receives a Confidential Student Report (CSR) that helps parents see where their child is doing well and where he or she may need extra help. This year, the CSR will look similar to the example report shown below. This report, which will be mailed to parents of STAAR students, will offer an overview of student performance on each test, as well as a detailed breakout for each test. A growth summary showing the student’s progress from year to year is also included.
The levels of proficiency on the STAAR Test that are considered passing are:
Approaches grade level - indicates the students show some knowledge of the course content but may be missing critical elements, but is considered passing.
Meets grade level - shows strong course content.
Masters grade level - shows mastery of the course content.
Parents may also login to the Texas Assessment Management System Student Portal at http://www.texasassessment.com to access assessment results. A unique access code may be found at the bottom of the student’s Confidential Student Report (CSR).
Parents may also lookup a student’s access code without a copy ot the student’s CSR using the student’s first name, PEIMS ID (social security number) and date of birth.
