The year of the Cub and Cubette!

Today is a Great Day to be a Cub!

We are only four months into 2017 and I believe we can proudly say that this has been "the year of the Cub and Cubette!" In February, Brenham ISD was uniquely placed on the international stage when we were spotlighted as the home of Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Brown of the New England Patriots. In addition, our very own Brenham Belles dance team performed during the Super Bowl LI halftime show. On Sunday, April 2, we were again fortunate to watch our very own former Cubette Teaira McCowan compete in the Women's NCAA National Championship! Furthermore, our Brenham Cub baseball program celebrated their 1500th win, the most wins of any high school program in the state! We are very proud of the athletic successes of our former and present students on the field and on the court.

We are equally proud of the academic progress and scholarly distinctions of our students.  Students from Brenham ISD graduate and attend some of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the state and nation! Earning these extraordinary accolades and distinctions do not happen by accident; many dedicated and nurturing teachers, coaches, and support staff are the unsung heroes of our noble profession. This is why we continue to invest significant time and resources into aligning curriculum, strengthening programs, and hiring phenomenal staff. We have an expectation that our students receive a world-class education right here in Brenham, Texas!

As we enter the STAAR/EOC testing season, I want to remind everyone of our professional and moral obligation to always prepare students for academic success in the classroom, and ultimately, for their life's "big moment." Whether their spotlight is on the national stage, in college, the military, or the workforce, our goal is to guarantee every student be thoroughly prepared for their special moments.
