The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) is a Texas initiative designed to recognize and reward exceptional classroom teachers while helping districts recruit and retain top talent. In 2025–2026, Brenham ISD will fully implement its locally developed, state-approved TIA system across all seven campuses. The
BISD TIA Handbook outlines how teachers can earn one of three designations — Recognized, Exemplary, or Master — based on a combination of professional practice, as measured through T-TESS observations, and student growth outcomes. Designations are valid for five years, portable across Texas, and come with substantial additional compensation, with amounts varying by designation level, campus, and student demographics.
This guide details eligibility requirements, timelines, observation and student growth measures, funding allocation, and the district’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and accuracy in the designation process. It also explains how Brenham ISD will use TIA funds to directly benefit teachers and classrooms, ensuring that at least 90% of all allotment dollars go to designated teachers at their campus. Through TIA, Brenham ISD celebrates the dedication and impact of its educators, invests in instructional excellence, and strengthens student outcomes for the entire Cub community.
