Board approves new director of curriculum, instruction, and accountability

The Brenham Independent School District is proud to share that the board of trustees unanimously approved Sarah Cook as the new director of curriculum, instruction, and accountability at last night’s regular board meeting. Sarah will replace Mark Strauss who will retire this month. Sarah began her career with Brenham ISD in 2004 as an instructional aide. Throughout her 15 years in Brenham ISD, Sarah also served as a sixth-grade science teacher, a CSI teacher, and most recently a content specialist for science and social studies. Sarah earned a bachelor's degree in forensic chemistry from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Education from Lamar University with a focus on teacher leadership. She enjoys working with students and teachers, as well as researching data trends and instructional teaching practices to improve student achievement.
