BHS musicians receive honors from University Interscholastic League

Brenham High School students Edin Inestroza and Estefania Rivera have been recognized by the University Interscholastic League as Outstanding Performers at the 2019 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Vocal Solo Contest.

“Awards of this nature do not come easily and reflect the efforts of many individuals,” said State Director of Music Dr. Bradley Kent in a letter to the recipients. “Your parents, school and teachers are to be commended for their contribution to your success. At the same time remember that you alone through your own talent, dedication and hard work made this accomplishment a reality.”

Of the approximately 100,000 students participating in the regional UIL music contests and the 25,000 musicians who performed at TSSEC, only 2-3% earned the distinguished honor of being recognized as an Outstanding Performer.

“My heart is full of pride for these gifted students,” said Brenham ISD Director of Choirs Amanda Seymour. “It such a blessing to work in a district with talented students and an administration that loves and supports the arts.”
