We will never forget!

Dear Cub Nation,

Today marks the 18th anniversary of the terrible attacks on the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. This was an attack on American freedoms, on democracy, and on our humanity. We commemorate and honor the more than 3,000 lives that were lost on that dreadful day of September 11, 2001. While we are secure in knowing that our nation has made tremendous strides and progress to ensure the safety and security of all Americans, we can never forget those who lost life and loved ones on that day.

The students in our classrooms can't possibly internalize the trauma that we all experienced and shared while watching those horrific attacks take place in real time. We ask that you take time today to have a discussion with your children in an age-appropriate manner on how best to remember and honor the lives lost. The Brenham Public Schools remain committed to making our world a better place for all by teaching and modeling tolerance, civility, and how to extend the hands of peace towards all humanity. We also take this time to offer our sincerest thanks to all of our first responders and servicemen and women who continue to sacrifice their well-being for the sake of our peace and safety.

We will never forget!  May God continue to bless America!
