Staff Appreciation Week

Dear Cub Nation,

Today is a great day to be a Cub!

This week marks staff appreciation week and more than ever before, I believe everyone recognizes just how important our work as educators is to the success of our nation. Now, more than any time in modern history, parents at home get to see and experience the joys and challenges of being a full-time educator. While we recognize and respect the work our parents are doing, we can all agree that teaching is not an easy task! In fact, the work that you do in education is not only the most important work professionally, but it is literally life-impacting work.

As educators, we get pure joy from educating our students daily. What many others may view as challenging, we accept as just another day at the office. This week we want you to know how much you are appreciated.

Over that past seven weeks, there have been discussions on what roles are “essential” to the economy and what roles are not. My friends, the fact that we are still making daily calls to homes, grading papers, giving feedback to students, and continuing to feed students during school closure makes us all essential!

Each of you plays an important role in shaping the hearts, minds, and futures of our more than 5,000 students and we honor you! We say thank you! We hope that you enjoy this staff appreciation week and know that you are essential to the rebuilding of this great nation and economy.

On behalf of the board of trustees and district administration, we honor and appreciate your service to our profession.  Have a great week!
