Thank you for a fantastic year!

Today is a great day to be a Cub! It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up another school year! Where has the time gone?

I want to take this opportunity to thank our Brenham ISD staff members for another fantastic year. I am thankful for your steadfastness in making a difference for more than 5,000 students in our district. I appreciate your leadership, guidance, and wisdom. I applaud you for instilling in our students the desire to be productive citizens and lifelong learners. You have all heard that working in education is not just a job or profession, rather it is a true calling to a higher purpose. I thank each of our staff members for answering the call of duty to pour into our students, strengthen our community, and serve as positive role models for a generation of students who seem to be searching for answers.

I also want to thank our students, parents and community members for your unending support of our public schools. Outstanding school districts are the reflection of outstanding communities. Thank you for your endless hours of volunteering, chaperoning, reading, organizing, donating and doing whatever was necessary to support our students, both at home and at school. So many of you go above and beyond the call of duty to provide whatever is necessary to help us ensure our students are successful.

I also want to share that, although we are uncertain at this time how the 86th legislative session will end on Monday, we will do everything in our power to send a strong message that our staff members are appreciated. We will continue to work with what we have in order to offer the absolute best compensation and benefits package possible. Thank you to each of you who helped us advocate on behalf of the 700 dedicated staff members in Brenham ISD. We are truly Brenham United!

To our retirees and seniors who are moving on to new chapters in their life, we sincerely thank you and we wish you all the best as you begin the next season of your lives. In ways large and small, each of you have made an impact on our Cub Nation. On behalf of the board of trustees and district administration, we wish you all a terrific summer!
