Cub Band advances to finals at Vista Ridge Marching contest

The Cub Band had a great day at the Vista Ridge Marching Contest last Saturday afternoon. In high heat and humidity, the Cub Band performed with a lot of energy and passion. The Vista Ridge contest hosts some outstanding Austin/San Antonio Class 4A, 5A and 6A bands. In prelims, the Cub Band earned 3rd place in 5A and 8th place overall. This outstanding finish earned us a place in the finals performance Saturday evening. We had a better performance Saturday night, and so did everyone else. We earned 10th place in finals. I am very proud of the effort shown by the Cub Band Saturday at the end of a long week!
Next week we are excited to perform at our home town contest hosted by the Blinn Buc Band. We are also excited that there are 4 other quality 5A bands going to be performing. If you want to see all 5, the 5A block starts at 4:15. We have had a healthy competition with Waltrip HS for at least 5 years. Saturday at Vista Ridge, we beat Hutto in the prelims and they beat us at finals. Last year, College Station beat us at Blinn and we beat them at Area. There are a lot of great story lines and measuring sticks for us Saturday Night. Let's fill the stadium with green and make some noise! I am super excited about cleaning up some odds and ends and adding more production value before we perform our show at Cub Stadium for the Blinn Marching Contest on Saturday, October 13!
Thank you all for your continued support of the Cub Band!
