Founded in 1875, Brenham ISD proudly holds the distinction of being the very first public school district in the state of Texas. For a century and a half, our schools have stood as a cornerstone of the Brenham community.  Rooted in tradition, strengthened by family and community partnerships, and committed to an exceptional education for every student.

This school year, 2025-2026, marks our 150th anniversary, a milestone that celebrates not only our past but also the bright future ahead. As we honor this incredible legacy, we also celebrate the generations of Cubs; students, educators, families, and community members, who have shaped Brenham ISD into the thriving district it is today.
