BHS junior accepted to Harvard Pre-College Program

Brenham High School junior Leona Hernandez has been accepted to the Harvard Pre-College Program. Hernandez was chosen from an exceptional applicant pool for this highly selective program based on her strong academic record and thoughtful application.

“I’m so excited to spend two weeks of my summer at Harvard,” said Hernandez. “Throughout this entire experience, I will be challenged in every way, both in and out of the classroom. I expect to meet extraordinary people and gain invaluable lessons from this program. I am honored to represent our school and community at this prestigious university.”

The Harvard Pre-College Program is an immersive, collaborative, and transformative residential experience for high school students. Attendees are encouraged to build independence and responsibility by planning their own time and managing the demands of rigorous college courses. Alongside peers from around the world, students will experience a summer study program that resembles that of a Harvard College student.

Hernandez is a member of the Brenham Anchor Club, BHS Women’s Chorus, and the National Honor Society. She plans to major in Humanities and Social Sciences after she graduates from Brenham High School.
